In March 1998, CVC funds led the acquisition of Amatek, an Australian building materials manufacturer with a portfolio that includes laminate flooring, medium density fibre-board, meta building products, insulation and concrete pipes and tie businesses in both Australia and the US. Since acquisition, a number of disposals have been made and Amatek now consists of Rocla Concrete Tie Inc a US-based manufacturer of concrete railway ties.
